Legal Aid

Legal Aid
question

Is it appropriate for a legal aid lawyer to give information about a person who has attempted to file for legal aid, and been denied?

answer

Sorry, your question isn't really in our categories of coverage but it would seem inappropriate for an attorney to disclose anything about a prospective client. The fact that you did not become a client of the legal aid, or that it is legal aid rather than a paid attorney should not change this. You might be able to find the attorney ethics opinions and rules for your state on the Internet by searching your state name and "legal ethics" or going to your state bar association's web site.
