Postnuptial agreements (also called marital agreements and post-nups for short) are written agreements entered into during marriage to control the financial consequences of the marriage and in particular a later divorce. This video clip will explore some of the key concepts you should consider when evaluating using or actually planning a post-nuptial agreement. Because the parties are already married when such agreements are made the courts tend to look at them vary carefully for fairness and the reasons for them.
